Protecting Food Crops from Yield Loss

The success of 2,4-D is widely attributed to its effectiveness in weed control in the agricultural industry. In crops, weeds are the number one pest problem for farmers and ranchers. Unwanted and invasive weeds crowd out the crop, absorb soil moisture and take up crop nutrients, resulting in dramatically lower crop yields.

2,4-D has the ability to control weeds in a safe effective manner, and at a low cost, which contributes to low cost food products made from crops such as corn, oats, rice and wheat. Without the availability of 2,4-D, farmers and ranchers would accrue significant financial loss as crop yields would decrease resulting in an increase in consumer food prices.
