Australian Proposed Regulatory Changes

The Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA), the Australian pesticide regulatory agency, has proposed that crop protection products sold in the country containing short chain forms of 2,4-D be withdrawn from sale. Products containing these more volatile forms of 2,4-D have not been registered for use in North America or Europe for more than 20 years because of their potential to affect off-target crops and other environments via spray drift.
