Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)

All pesticides registered for sale in the United States and Canada must meet health, safety and environmental standards mandated by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Health Canada Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA). Because 2,4-D has been registered for many decades with both agencies, new data and research using the latest technology and scientific techniques is needed to keep the registration up to date with constantly evolving standards.

The role of the Task Force is to work with EPA and PMRA to understand what information is needed to keep 2,4-D registrations current, and then to fund the necessary research through independent, unbiased third parties. All research efforts funded by the Task Force are conducted under stringent Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) guidelines that closely follow specified protocols, are conducted in qualified facilities, and document every part of the research process to ensure that all data produced is as accurate as possible.

By adhering to GLP standards, the transparency, objectivity, utility, consistency and integrity of all information generated by Task Force funded research efforts is assured.
